10 More Tips For Going Green

1. When you are done with your electronics and they aren’t fit for selling, don’t throw them away. Make sure they get reused. Best Buy takes smaller electronics, computers without hard drives, TV’s, DVD players, monitors, cell phones, and more.
2. Leaving a car on while you are not using it wastes gas. Don’t idle!
3. Walk or bike to places that are close to you instead of riding in your car.
4. Buy energy star appliances.
5. Always wait until it is a full load before running your dish washer. Better yet, hand wash your dishes.
6. If there is a leaky faucet in your house, fix it! Leaky faucets can waste thousands of gallons of water a year.
7. The average washing machine uses 40.9 gallons of water. There are water saving models that use 28. Buy a water saving washing machine.
8. Food scraps and cut grass are good fertilizers for lawns. So do that instead of using fertilizers full of chemicals.
9. Before you go to bed, unplug all of your electronics. All of them use energy even when turned off.
10. There is a reason recycling comes third. It is always best not to buy the thing your recycling in the first place. Don’t buy things you don’t need.
